Pipe's and Memories

Nicholas Gann Tuesday, August 31, 2010
My aunt-in-law brought these out to show me after I was explaining my new hobbies to her.

The biggest one(or the one with tits) is a Meerschaum.
(made from sea foam)

The other three in order from top to bottom:
Falcon, with removeable bowl,
Bulldog from Italy carved from Briar with vulcanite stem,
Churchwarden from Italy carved from Briar with vulcanite stem.

They were her grandfathers, and were some seriously nice and well smoked pipes.

William Garrisons First Pipe...

Nicholas Gann Monday, August 30, 2010

This great friend of mine is a natural at every art he has ever tried. As is the case for many things he hasn't gotten around to yet.

The pipe is a wonderful piece, not just for a first, but as a whole.

I hope you enjoy!

Pipemaking Pt. 1

Nicholas Gann Friday, August 20, 2010
My knife collection has grown greatly since I inherited my grandfathers old knives. Many are very incredible and come from all kinds of eras and places throughout the world.

The black one you see in the photo is a Kissing Crane from before World War 2. Solingen Steel, German knife.

A friend (Tad) let me borrow an incredible knife sharpening stone set and I went to town on about 20 knives.

more after the jumpsie!

Crap yes! I have to def. thank you for this awesome idea. I always wanted to carve/whittle however the thought never crossed my mind to carve a pipe. I still cant get over the fact that you found 17" stems in Germany. Thats brilliant! and freakishly long! (*insert joke here*) Man I cant wait to camp...chill in the hammock, drink good brew (wish it were hommade), whittle on sticks, and...

Loved the single point lighting, and the song.

A great video, with funny narration.

I love the video because The Black Widow(the asian woman) is in it and she is a legendary pool player. What I find funny is that this game takes a certain concentration and strategy, meanwhile you have angry sounding asian dudes being really intense with the narration.

It's a long video but some of the play is incredible.

P.S. Widow really fucks this game up.

Ouschan should try playing with my stick. HEY-O! But really though, Lee's face, combined with the narration, was hilarious more than a few times in this video.

New Cue... From the 70's

Nicholas Gann Thursday, March 4, 2010
The pool cue I inherited tonight is made by the company Viking. It came with a leather carrying case, chalk bag, and chalk for the tip. This stick is probably around 19-20oz and feels incredibly smooth with zero imperfections even though it hasn't left the case in probably 10+ years.

Pictures with the link.

As a young child my mother knew quite a few different bar owners around the county. This led me to pool.
