Nick makes a turtle dock from plexiglass using the same process he showed me for the camera/audio recorder mount. Plus, some video of his turtles.
In the last shot in this video, you can see how the magic of zoom and focus practically makes the mesh I was shooting through disappear.

I think the last shot really showcases the K-x's character. Astounding clarity, jello-wobble, and the quirkiness of its zoom and focus. I'm still trying to get the hang of really shallow focus with this thing. In the first couple clips, the depth of field is something like half a centimeter. I also finally cut the whole video down to cinemascope aspect ratio instead of using black bars.

The end where the dog just sort of stares at the camera and then sits down is the perfect representation of how much This Place Is A Stranger. Also the music was perfect for showing the frantic nature of the ants. Fuckin' praying mantis man.

Yeah. I love the way stuff looks through it. I haven't played much with the settings to know for sure what I want and how to get it, but I think it's awesome. Enough time has definitely gone by now that grainy lowlight video can be accepted as better than clear, really really dark lowlight. Some people are still shooting in 16mm.
