A funny gift.

Nicholas Gann Tuesday, August 31, 2010
On the way to Palm Harbor we stopped in Atlanta to see Jack Johnson in concert. Some friends of ours who live in Atlanta let us stay in their house on the way down.

This was on one of the bookshelves, and was apparently a wedding gift.

Jo-To's Sushi

Nicholas Gann Tuesday, August 31, 2010
This place was in Palm Harbor. The sushi is the best sushi I have ever had. The rice was fresh, the wasabi strong, and the eel sweet. And who can deny the badassery of the boat?

I absolutely loved it, and thank you Aunt Gigi for taking us there multiple times!

One of the things I read about sushi spots is that anybody can throw some delicious sauce on a pile of ingredients and make it taste great, but the good spots make tasty sushi that are expertly cut and presented with real creativity and enthusiasm. Maybe one day Murfreesboro will get a sushi spot that does the sushi boats on the river around the bar.

Mama's Seafood Cafe

Located on Clearwater Beach

I had muscles boiled in cream sauce and onions with a side of fries. It reminded me of France

Laura had lamb shank and potatoes.

Also pictured here is Garlic Hummus with pita chips, Amberbock, and Sangria

Dunedin Brewery

Nicholas Gann Tuesday, August 31, 2010
Beer is a huge love of mine! The Dunedin Brewery delivered a fantastic, clean, and subtle group of flavor in every beer I tried.

The tap arrangement.

On the left we have an Apricot Ale, One the right we have a Coffee Brown, accented with an amazing chocolate and almond flavor.

Pipe's and Memories

Nicholas Gann Tuesday, August 31, 2010
My aunt-in-law brought these out to show me after I was explaining my new hobbies to her.

The biggest one(or the one with tits) is a Meerschaum.
(made from sea foam)

The other three in order from top to bottom:
Falcon, with removeable bowl,
Bulldog from Italy carved from Briar with vulcanite stem,
Churchwarden from Italy carved from Briar with vulcanite stem.

They were her grandfathers, and were some seriously nice and well smoked pipes.

Kelly's...Fuckin' delicious!

Nicholas Gann Tuesday, August 31, 2010
This menu was hilarious. The bar/restaurant was primarily gays, so the imagery is great.

This was an incredible meal. The omelet was swiss and spinach. The potatoes were Cajun style with Cheddar, and the pancakes were... pancakes.

William Garrisons First Pipe...

Nicholas Gann Monday, August 30, 2010

This great friend of mine is a natural at every art he has ever tried. As is the case for many things he hasn't gotten around to yet.

The pipe is a wonderful piece, not just for a first, but as a whole.

I hope you enjoy!

Pipemaking Pt. 1

Nicholas Gann Friday, August 20, 2010
My knife collection has grown greatly since I inherited my grandfathers old knives. Many are very incredible and come from all kinds of eras and places throughout the world.

The black one you see in the photo is a Kissing Crane from before World War 2. Solingen Steel, German knife.

A friend (Tad) let me borrow an incredible knife sharpening stone set and I went to town on about 20 knives.

more after the jumpsie!

Crap yes! I have to def. thank you for this awesome idea. I always wanted to carve/whittle however the thought never crossed my mind to carve a pipe. I still cant get over the fact that you found 17" stems in Germany. Thats brilliant! and freakishly long! (*insert joke here*) Man I cant wait to camp...chill in the hammock, drink good brew (wish it were hommade), whittle on sticks, and...

Charcoal Experiments

Nicholas Gann Monday, July 5, 2010
A few days ago I made a trip to Jerry's Artorama in Nashville, TN. The store is basically a Hobby Lobby without the decorative shit. All Art no nonsense.

I bought a sketch book, 3 different pencils with varying leds, 2 shades of charcoal, a sharpener(which is the wrong one for any of these pencils), and a kneadable eraser(which I have a lot of, but they are fun!) All for about 10 dollars.

After the jump you can see the result of my first Charcoal drawing in about 6 years. It was really fun playing with the medium again and readers can expect to see a nice progression as we move along.

New Design and Concept

Nicholas Gann Saturday, July 3, 2010
NicholasGann.com is getting a facelift. I have yet again progressed in my digital designing abilities, so this should be nice eye candy.

I will be experimenting with HTML 5 and a really cool new Geolocation idea.

This is truly just a beginning to the madness but wanted to post what i had done in the last little bit. The idea for the site in its current mental state is going to be one of adventure through different mediums of art more or less. With plenty of room for my forced philosophies.

I went on a ride along with a lifelong friend of mine Zach. Zach is a Policeman, Fireman, First Responder, and probably some other things I am leaving out.

He was patrolling Thursday and gave me the full tour of the station and firetrucks which were massive to say the least.

Below is a shot of his cruiser and then a snapshot of him with an M4 mounted above his head. Which is in itself pretty awesome considering we love Counter Strike.

Infused Vodka's Round 1.

Nicholas Gann Thursday, June 17, 2010
Vodka is one of my favorite alcohols because its largely tasteless, and the most versatile.

In this particular round I have started with a Mango/Orange infusion, and also a Mint/Lemon infusion.

More after the Jizzump.

Coffee?

Nicholas Gann Thursday, June 17, 2010
This is what coffee at Lanes Trains and Automobiles looks like. It comes in frozen and is then thawed but kept above the machine in a refrigerator that built into the coffee dispenser.

It mixes with hot water as it comes out of the faucet, there is no actual brewing involved.

Also, it tastes like shit.
