Fried Chicken with Rice Crispy Batter

Jacob Estes Tuesday, February 2, 2010 Posted under food, pictures.

fried chicken tenders
The batter is paprika, garlic and onion powder, egg, flour, and crushed rice crispy cereal. I'm on my way to finding the best fried chicken tenders out there. I don't have a deep fryer or an oil thermometer, and these were cut from breasts and are uneven sizes, so I don't know if I want to nail it down to numbers or just keep making chicken until I get old and refuse to change my ways.

they melt just like real marshmallows, and they aren't quite as sweet when melted that down.

I actually just checked today, and yes they are. Do they melt and stuff as well as baby blood marshmallows?

were they called dandies?

We were sampling vegan marshmallows at work today. They are really really good. I know that's vague. They could be any brand. They are the good brand if that helps. They're vaguen.

i've been on a sunflower oil kick lately, i like it. it cooks really well at high temperatures.

i havent been able to eat the treats at work because of the marshmallows, they have gelatin in em and i dont eat gelatin. but we are going to the store as soon as she gets her butt in and out of the shower and we're gunna get stuff to make vegan rice crispy treats.

Corn flakes versus rice crispies is a debate that hits home for me ethnically (supposedly). Corn flakes is what gave me the idea, and that seems like a pretty southern redneck thing to use. But I wanted to try rice crispies because it's cheaper than rice flour and I wanted that tempura sort of thing going on. Next time I'm gonna get some peanut oil, and refine the batter process a little.

Ironically we got marshmallows and rice crispies at the same time and have made treats yet. Chocolate is a good idea.

two or three times a week at work i have to make rice crispy treats. yesterday i made them chocolate flavored. i threw in a few fistfuls of chocolate chips to the butter/marshmellow mix, then when i panned them up i pressed chocolate chips into the top. delicious im sure, i didnt eat any.

corn flakes > rice crispies for fried chicken.
