Great Barrier Reef

Great Barrier Reef

Nicholas Gann Saturday, February 6, 2010 Posted under Travel, Wonder, Nature.
Diving the Great Barrier Reef is one of a thousand life goals I have. But it makes the top 3. After the jump you can find some facts about the reef. And a new interest of mine(they never stop coming).
Fact One: This is the only living organism that can be seen from space.

Fact Two: It is the most "culturally diverse" area on the planet. Housing nearly 1500 species of fish. Really this only grazes the party hosted here.

Fact Three: Coral is fucking beautiful.

My new interest: Saltwater Fish tanks. The freshwater tanks have lost my interest due to lack of species that can live in them and the diversity of living beauty. I really hate having fake ornaments in the tank.

So I visited a new local pet store called Fins and Fur. They have an amazing selection of saltwater creatures and equipment.

I want living, breathing plants in my tanks. The really neat thing about coral is that when you put food in the tank for the fish you can see it expand its tentacles, different according to the breed, and grab the food.

Larry- is it the kind you make sushi out of? Can we make sushi out of it if I come over?

Having coral in your living room tank would be so cool.
